A large majority of respondents in WPI’s most recent survey do not expect a global recession by 2020 (see graph below).  Meanwhile, U.S. farmer confidence drifted 2 percent lower last month in the Purdue University/CME Group survey, but future expectations have been trending higher over the past year. Those surveyed remain very concerned over the financial health of their operations, but a large majority believe that the trade dispute with China will be settled in a manner beneficial to them, and slightly over half believe the agreement will occur by 1 July.
