The Administration has released its regulatory agenda for the rest of 2024. The agenda is a public notice process that details agencies’ work on proposed and upcoming regulations that will be put out for comment. In all, USDA has 109 regulations in the works, some significant and some less so. The biggest portion is from USDA’s Rural Development service, but below are items of interest to commodity markets. RFS and Biofuels Setting the annual required volume obligation (RVO) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) actually comes from the EPA, which is proposing to issue the proposed 2026 volumes in March 2025 and finalize them in December 2025. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
