Milling Wheat The weather in Eastern Europe is favorable for the development of winter wheat. After the recent rains in Ukraine and southern Russia, the market has been expecting a 35 percent increase in the size of the crop. Despite this optimism, weather risks should not be underestimated -- especially in northern Russia's spring wheat regions, where planting has just been completed. However, a repetition of last year's weather-related disaster definitely can be excluded.
