The Global Harvest Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 by DuPont, ADM, Monsanto and John Deere. Its purpose is to advance policies, research and agricultural practices that will increase world agricultural productivity through collaborative efforts by private organizations working with government agencies and other public sector groups. Since its founding, a number of other businesses and organizations have joined the group. We have followed the Global Harvest Initiative since 2014 when it compiled and published its first annual report on Global Agricultural Productivity (GAP) and the rate of growth needed to feed a global population of 10 billion in 2050.
