Now that the ag portion of the budget reconciliation bill has passed, there are still some big plans and major new initiatives planned by the Agriculture Committee leadership and USDA, including racial equity initiatives and climate policies. Already, several Senate Agriculture Committee members have introduced a bill for USDA to purchase farmland offered for sale, at market prices, to provide in 160-acre parcels to Black farmers.
