Reportedly, China's communist gov. has asked state run firms to halt their purchases of US beans and pork, and could expand the list of goods if the Trump administration takes further action. The response from the market was to be lower across the board. China did buy at least 10 cargoes of soybeans out of South America last week even though US prices were cheaper. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
