According to financial media reports, China is prepared to ask the US to cancel more existing and planned tariffs on Chinese goods in exchange to purchase more US farm goods. Elsewhere in the world, elections will be held in Argentina this weekend, and if the current President Macri loses, it could mean a return to higher export taxes on wheat, corn, and beans in which case the farmer will once again keep more beans off the market. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
