GOOD MORNING, Fund position leveling is now taking place into the June 30 Quarterly Grains Stocks report as they remain short everything except soyoil. Funds are using market setbacks to lighten up on short positions on friendly bean and corn seasonals (which usually bottom this time of year), trade talks in October, and two upcoming USDA reports. Meanwhile, traders continue to search for signs of new business as US beans are at a discount to Brazil and Argentina. Brazil is coming to the end of their marketing year, and as such could soon run out of exportable supply. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
