While China gets most of the attention on African Swine Fever just because of the volume of production adversely impacted, the Philippines has suffered a larger percentage drop in output. From peak to trough, Chinese pork production fell 30 percent, but Filipino production is off 32.8 percent. China’s hog herd has rebounded to around 92 percent of its pre-ASF level whereas the Philippines is now in its third wave of the disease and it has just been found in Leyte province.  The impacts from ASF elsewhere around the globe have been relatively marginal, though the threat is ongoing.
