Export Sales and Shipments for February 21-27, 2025 Wheat: Net sales of 338,700 metric tons (MT) for 2024/2025 were up 26 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average. Export shipments of 380,300 MT were unchanged from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (75,000 MT), the Philippines (72,600 MT), Thailand (57,700 MT), Vietnam (39,900 MT), and Japan (33,800 MT). Corn: Net sales of 909,100 MT for 2024/2025 were up 15 percent from the previous week, but down 32 percent from the prior 4-week average. Forecasting developments in production agriculture
On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt. WPI’s model has subsequently provided quantitative support to a multi-million-dollar investment into short-season corn variety development.
