Regardless of how you view and asses these different acreage estimates, they will impact the final crop production estimates and they strongly suggest smaller production estimates in the months ahead.The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) released their September acreage numbers this morning and the market's reaction was very mixed. If you would like to be bullish or at least look for a reason for prices to bottom, you could point to these numbers and say planted acres of corn and soybeans are much smaller than the latest USDA/NASS numbers that are used in the WASDE.
