Cattle on Feed Preview Tomorrow USDA will release its monthly Cattle on Feed report. The industry’s pre-report estimates peg the total number of cattle on feed as of 1 June at 101.3 percent of last year or 11.7 million head, which would be a record for that date. May placements are expected to be 96 percent of last year based on two factors: 1) the record number of cattle placed in previous months, and 2) bullish corn prices. Given the current corn market situation, this can be expected to be a trend through the second half of the year.
