Pork export sales for the week ending 26 June slowed, following the large volume booked the previous week. However, in the last five weeks pork export sales have averaged over 30,000 MT per week. That is strong for this time of year. Outstanding pork sales at 202,497 MT are running about 10 percent below year-ago levels. Exporters may look to add to their positions once supply starts to pick up, which would be in late August and this fall. Much rides on the outcome of a potential U.S. trade deal with China which could result in increased sales, but that is still a risk.
