General Comments There has been market discussion that China is making some selective wheat purchases to shore up stocks. USDA currently estimates that China will import about 3.5 MMT of wheat to supplement its 2013/14 domestic production of 121 MMT. Those Chinese wheat imports are only about 3 percent of domestic production. Chinese corn imports of 7 MMT are forecast to be a similar 3 percent proportion in relation to the country's total domestic production of 212 MMT. Of course, China's imports of these two grains are dwarfed by the anticipated soybean imports of 69 MMT, which is more than five times larger than China's domestic soybean production of 12 MMT. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company.
