Corn Rains finally arrived across much of Argentina’s agricultural region, halting the crop deterioration seen in recent weeks. The core corn and soybean region benefited most, with some areas receiving up to 100 mm. However, localized damage from excess moisture, wind and hail affected an estimated 400,000 hectares across corn and soybeans. The south, particularly southeastern Buenos Aires Province, received less relief and soil moisture deficits remain visible. Crop development there is somewhat delayed, which may allow additional time for recovery if follow-up moisture arrives.
