Wheat Argentina Argentina’s wheat harvest is 54 percent complete after advancing 8.5 percent last week. Yields in the center and south of the agricultural area continue to surprise with values 0.3-2.03 MT above expectations. In the nucleus region, with harvest nearing the end yields are averaging 5.3 MT/ha, with minimum reported values of 4.5 MT/ha and maximum yields of 7.3 MT/ha. The South of Buenos Aires province is just starting to harvest with first yields slightly above expected. Given the above scenario, the grain exchanges again increased their crop estimates. The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange raised its forecast from 20.3 MMT to 21 while the Rosario Grain Exchange increased its projection from 20.4 MMT to 22.1 MMT...
Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
