Wheat Argentina’s wheat harvest continues at high speed with 12 percent harvested this week. The total has now reached 45 percent of the planted area. Surprises are coming from the nucleus regions with yields above estimates, bringing an additional 430,000 MT to the area. Per Rosario Stock Exchange, the estimated volume for the nucleus region increased from 7.1 to 7.53 MMT - an all-time high. The primary reason for the yield increase is higher fertilizer application this year. So far, official crop estimates are still between 20.3-20.4 MMT, but WPI suspects the final crop will be bigger, likely near 21.2 MMT.
