Mediterranean/Middle East/North Africa/Africa – MEA Region Jordan’s wheat reserves are reportedly at 10 month consumption with barley supply at 8 months consumption. Jordan is increasing its grain storage capacity to a level that will allow as much as 16 months of wheat supply. Egypt is seeing its recent April purchase of 180,000 MT of French wheat starting to load in La Pallice France. The initial vessel of about 60,000 MT is expected to sail this week. Egypt’s wheat imports in 2025 are down by 30 percent from 7.1 MMT in 2024 to 3.9 MMT so far in 2025. Corn imports are up by 200,000 MT to 4.2 MMT with soybean imports up by 400,000 MT to 2.2 MMT.
