U.S. Soy Export Sales Highlights This week has been an active one for U.S. soybean export sales to China and unknown destination. USDA reported soybean export sales totaling 570,000 MT since 29 May. Of that amount 306,000 MT are reported as sold for unknown destinations and 264,000 MT haven been for China. Sales for shipment in 2019/20 totaled 192,000 MT with the remaining 378,000 MT being for shipment in 2020/21.However, those sales announced on a daily basis since 28 May will not show up in the weekly USDA export sales report until next week. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
