Power Cords and Mustard Concerned about electronic waste and abuse of consumers, the EU has been pushing for the industry to establish a single power charging cord to be used by mobile devices from all manufacturers. At least one manufacturer, Apple, is pushing back by saying it will harm innovation. The issue reminds one of a visit many years ago to the U.S. by the agriculture minister from the Soviet Union. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
