By contrast, world trade in sorghum has been volatile, peaking in 2014/15 at 12.1 MMT, slumping in 2018/19 to just 3.4 MMT, and now rising back up to 11.4 MMT. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
