New crop markets have had an overwhelmingly bearish attitude. This started back in February with the USDA's Outlook Conference projections for big planted acres and record or near-record yields per acre. Those projections, of course, meant that 2013/14 ending supplies of corn and soybeans would escalate to burdensome levels and prices would have to collapse.
